We are Victoria and Arkady - a family who left Russia in 2022 with our two children and rebuilt our lives from zero in Belgrade

We quickly learned that relocation is logistics, but integration is life

Documents, housing and SIM cards were easy

What wasn’t easy was everything human:

• the emotional shock,
• the loss of identity,
• the confusion of everyday situations,
• helping our children adapt,
• the silence and isolation of a new culture

Victoria now works as an analytical psychologist with migrant women and children in Belgrade. Every day she sees the same patterns:
